Viva Pops on Moms Day

During my Mothers Day outing we received an urgent call from our Daughters telling us that we must stop by our local farmers market and buy one of these new frozen fruit pops – and while the Apricot Lemon Grass was very good, the Lavender Lemonade was quite possibly one of the best things I have ever eaten!

Wedi Board

I first heard about Wedi board at the SAMA conference in San Diego last month, it is a substrate consisting of styrofoam encased in mesh and cement. I have decided to use it on my community mural project. Its greatest benefit is its weight - about ¼ of the weight of Durock and other cement boards.

The Center for a Healthy Lifestyle

My friend Katy Pelisek is the director for the new Center for a Healthy Lifestyle at the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito Barbara Harper Branch in Solana Beach. The center, which opened on earth day, features a demonstration garden with fruits, vegetables, lettuces and flowers, along with a new kitchen that features my painting “Piglet”.

White-Hot Microburg

My new issue of Riviera magazine just arrived and I see that my neighborhood is now “NorCo’s new hub for scorching-hot design”. Photographer Aaron Chang has opened a new gallery around the corner from my studio in what is now described as the “white-hot microburg of North Cedros”.

Resident Asks City to Charge Sen. Obama for Logo

As a college student at Arizona State University I created the logo for the City of Chandler. I just found out it was the center of some controversy, for more info check out this link:

http://www.azcentral.com/community/chandler/articles/2008/08/14/20080814cr-obama0815.html

It generated pages of comments, most having nothing to do with the logos!
